Energies We Tend to Neglect as Healers

Healers who are committed to nurturing and restoring the well-being of others are conduits of energy and skilled in various modalities and practices. Aaaaand … in an unwavering focus on the energies of our clients, we can sometimes overlook those core healing energies within ourselves. We might become so consumed with giving that we forget to replenish our own reserves. This can lead to burnout, fatigue, and a diminished capacity to show up for folks, both personally and professionally. Here’s a shortlist of energies to be mindful of for nurturing our own vitality as we guide our clients and communities on their path.

Rest and Relaxation: This cannot be understated — burnout is a very real risk for healers. By prioritizing rest and relaxation, we not only prevent exhaustion but we also create space for our own healing and renewal. This enables us to show up fully for our clients and ourselves.

Play and Creativity: When was the last time you made space for play? Engaging in joyful, creative activities can reignite our passion for healing and prevent stagnation. It's a necessary reminder that healing can be fun and inspiring.

Spirituality and Intuition: Our spiritual beliefs and intuition are powerful allies in our healing work. Honoring these aspects of ourselves provides a deeper sense of purpose and guidance, supporting us to ground our practice in something greater than ourselves.

Self-Care and Self-Love: Practicing self-care and learning how to genuinely love yourself is a practice in embodiment. We lead by example. We glow differently when we radiate the well-being that comes from nourishing our own mind, body, and spirit. Clients won't learn how to love themselves from someone who they see doesn't love themselves enough to prioritize their own well-being!

Movement and Physical Activity: Energy is meant to FLOW. Incorporating intuitive movement, dance, or even a brisk walk can help release tension and keep your energy vibrant. And of course, practicing breathwork can be a powerful tool to clear energetic blockages and cultivate inner peace.

When we honor these often neglected energies, we can cultivate a more holistic approach to healing that nurtures our own well-being as we guide others on their path. Remember … you are a healer, but you’re also a human being with a whole spectrum of needs! When we tend to these needs, we become even more powerful conduits of healing energy.
